Summary

Barely does not collect, store, or share any personal data. Your notes stay on your device.

Data storage

All notes, photos, and videos are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Nothing is sent to our servers — we don't have any.

No accounts

Barely does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information.

No analytics

We do not use any analytics, tracking, or telemetry. We don't know how you use the app, and we don't want to.

No advertising

Barely contains no ads and does not use any advertising frameworks or identifiers.

In-app purchases

Barely offers an optional one-time purchase for premium themes (Bokashi). This transaction is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store any payment information.

Camera and photo library

Barely requests camera access to take photos and videos for your notes, and photo library access to save media. These permissions are only used when you initiate the action. Media is stored locally on your device.

Live Activity

Barely can display your current note on the lock screen using Apple's Live Activity feature. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted anywhere.

Widgets

Barely's widgets display your current note on your home screen or lock screen. Note content is shared between the app and widget using a local App Group container on your device. No data leaves your device.

Children's privacy

Barely does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app does not collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page. Since we don't collect any data, it's unlikely to change.
